When will my order ship?
All orders ship within 3-7 business days after confirmation. If an item is backordered, an estimated alternate ship date may be listed in the product description.

Do you ship internationally?
We do! Please send international shipping inquiries to sales@shiftmakes.com.

Can my order be expedited?
At this time we offer expedited shipping only through coordination with the SHIFT team. You may inquire at sales@shiftmakes.com to review shipping options.

What if my order (or part of my order) is out of stock?  
If a product is out of stock, the anticipated ship date may be listed in the product description for that item. If your order contains some in-stock and some out of stock items, your products can be shipped separately as soon as they're available. You have the option to cancel an order on backorder stock until the ship date listed in the product description.



Every item is carefully inspected before leaving our warehouse. SHIFT does not accept returns for any reason other than manufacturer defect or shipping error. Orders may be changed or cancelled with approval, prior to shipment. In the event that damage occurs in transit, or if you discover any defect in manufacturing please email us within 7 days at sales@shiftmakes.com with your order customer information. All returns must be pre- authorized with an RMA number.

Return shipping charges + 20% restocking fee apply for ALL returns and exchanges and are the customers responsibility no matter what the reason for the return. The team at SHIFT will inspect the product before a refund is issued. To begin a return, contact sales@shiftmakes.com with "return" or "exchange" in the message title.

Our products are crafted locally by fabricators in Pennsylvania, USA. Additional parts are produced using recycled and/or sustainable materials throughout America. We work with local factories to diminish our environmental footprint, promote sustainable jobs and ensure quality production practices for every SHIFT product.


What can I expect?
We are proud to offer products made from a variety of materials using unique manufacturing techniques here in the USA.
Most SHIFT products are crafted from polyester coated aluminum. Every material we use has its own inherent properties - and some products, while structurally built to last a lifetime, may have variations from piece to piece and change over time. 

Why Aluminum?
There is no limit to how many times aluminum can be reclaimed. Nearly 75% of aluminum in circulation has been recycled, and since aluminum is considered a sustainable metal, it can be recycled again and again with no loss in material or quality. The material is lightweight, durable and readily available in the U.S.A. for architectural and furniture applications.

To help us protect the environment, be sure to take your packaging and any old unwanted furniture to your local waste disposal center for recycling. Check out our journal for tips on living cleaner and smarter.



What about my information?
Customer privacy is very important to us. We promise responsible handling of all sensitive and personal customer information. We do not sell your information to other companies. The types of personal information collected are Name, Address, Email, Phone number, Credit/Debit Card Information, etc. By using this website you agree to the terms of this policy.



Can I order a custom edition?
Yes! We offer custom RAL colors, limited edition runs and company branding at low quantity requirements. Contact sales@shiftmakes.com to inquire.

Who designs SHIFT products?
Our products are designed by William May in collaboration with SHIFTSPACE, a team of architects and designers working regularly on designed environments for Shake Shack, Amtrak, business districts and URBN.

I have a specific need, do you offer design services?
SHIFTSPACE offers full service design work to tailor SHIFT product systems to specific brands needs. We’ve done this for Shake Shack and can do it for you. Contact sales@shiftmakes.com to set up a time to discuss your project with our team.



No matter what the material (i.e. wood, fabric, plastic, metal...) all products require maintenance to ensure a long healthy lifespan. Material and finish will vary considerably depending on conditions and type of use it is subjected to. To help maximize the lifespan of your SHIFT products, we have some essential rules you should follow.

-  Always store SHIFT products in dry, well-ventilated places when not in use.
-  Take every precaution to protect SHIFT products from any knocks or bumps that could cause chipping or scratching to the finish. Touch up paint should be immediately applied to any blemishes on steel products that occur.
-  To prevent scratches and water retention, we recommend that you do not place decorative objects on any SHIFT products without rubber or felt pads to prevent damage due to scraping.
-  Use glides to prevent degradation or damage to SHIFT products or flooring resulting from unprotected contact with the ground.
-  Immediately clean off any traces of bird droppings, as these can be damaging and may lead to the corrosion or staining of your item.
-  Hardware used for assembly may need to be tightened on an as needed basis based on volume of use. We recommend at least every 4 to 6 months.
